I feel for anyone that paid 1000, I paid 700 for my blue red toy and just got the pads for 180.

Farkn' bullsh!t. As if this thing ain't cost me enough yet, I'm gonna need a second job and a bank loan to pay this shit off  I wonder what other nasty suprises they have in store for us, maybe a timed self destruction sequence? Don't get me wrong I still love my 1k but just knowing that there are better pads out there comin as stock standard on new units hurts. Mine is only 4 months old, lifted the lid and yep the old pads :x

I am pissed, as stated already, however two things are clear to me:
1 - either I replace my dead pads with the same shit*ty quality pads the mpc1000 was delivered with knowing they will soon break again... this is not an option I like!
2 - either i replace them with the new kit. This is better than buying a new MPC1k just to have working pads!

Personnally I paid my first mpc1k (the blue one) 780 Euro, I paid the second one (a black one) 680 Euro (brought over from japan by a friend), so I don't care too much about putting 180 $ to buy the replacement kits... (Especially since JJ OS came out the 1k is an amazingly versatile and powerful tool, and it only lacks expressiveness due to the fact that I can only use the pads at full level now... otherwise their beahavious is completely unpredicatble as a whole).

BUT I want these kits to be available as replacements for old 1ks BEFORE they are installed on the new mpc1000 series!!!!! what the heck!!! I can't stand this bullshit commercial policy that favours new customers rather than old ones.

The only thing ima say is that damn the new pads feel much better, I dont have to worry about the old ones breaking on me. Personaly if I paid 1000 for my mpc1k I would still buy the new pads just cause I want to be able to make beats, thats the only reason I bought it. I know alot of people would disagree but all the time we spent arguing we could be making fire, but hey its a free country so to you guys do your thing. 8)

I would be making fire as you suggested, if my 1000s pads actually worked!
Two weeks old and I'd rather throw it on a fire.
I am back to using laptop, cubase, battery, reason and ableton live!

i think i'd rather make the switch to another mpc.. right now the choice i have is to buy the new pads for 180 bucks, plus 120 for shipping, plus import taxes. Im ****... this is the biggest scam ever.
