Found this on a Japanese Music Store website!


Akai Professional bankruptcy procedure started (2005/12/21) Akai Professional applied for self bankruptcy, to 7 days received bankruptcy procedure start decision from Tokyo district court. For the present there is no influence concerning the supply of the product which accompanies this and the relation of support. In Akai Professional the product which such as MPC series has stock is supplied sort until now. It is similar support in addition concerning the inquiry. As for new product EWI4000s presently trouble of the product is detected and sale becoming postponement has been decided.

Is this true? Can anyone comment on it?

i hope they do go under. after os2 comes out that is, akai are scumbags, that cant be denied.

If Akai is really bankrupt, well, this is a bad sign. :(
On the other hand, i don't feel really sorry, they worked on this process since they quit with roger linn...

Numark is the owners of Akai,and I don't think the product will stop, I do
believe The MPC's line will change in someway,think about. Black products
being made to represent Numark line's,eventually fading Akai logo's out all
together,that's what happen to Roger Linn product, Or Cool Edit vs Adobe Audition transition. It's about M-O-N-E-Y ! I think the O.S will be out like I said around Namm or later, so sit back and see what happens that's it. 8) 8) 8)
