aside from 4 midi outs
A feature that I have found useful on the MPC 2500 (not sure if the MPC 1000 can do this as well) is the ability to assign LSB/MSB to each track for external sound modules. These bank change functions will allow you to select the patches from any bank in externally sound modules directly from the MPC. All of this without having to touch your sound module. This is my favorite 2500 function that I have been begging for years for an MPC to have.
First, MSB/LSB are midi Controllers and they already come with the MPC's
=all you have to do is go into step edit and hit insert dial to the > and insert control O-MSB /32 -LSB - 1-127 banks Program change 1-127.
Remember if it has midi it is capable of sending bank change.
So as for which is best,Both are good to have ,I Purchased the 1k bak-n Apirl , and still haven't used it, jus gave my 2000xl to a friend, Why? because of 1k's benifits- First usb,CF,HD,Fastload time, more memory,PC Compatiability-and poratable that's a plus, when I get the 2500 it stays in the studio, but guess what if i'm moving around, I can transfer my programs to and from the (2500-n- 1000)via PC- MPC's. think of useing mpc lines this way, don't have time in the studio, take your 1k with you into
coffe shop libary ,resturant, etc. you go figure. T"
