yo. i gotta say, i got the fat pads on my mpd32 and the shit feels wayyyy better then a 2500.. my only complaint is the pad corx suck. the glue on them dont stay stuck, buy some super glue. but the pads feel like a dream. best pads ive ever banged, and no logo on these ones..

People DO wear shirts with Nike swooshes on them, but how often do you see underground hip-hop kids wearing Nike shirts? Most underground cats prefer the indiscreetness of blank t's, and logo free hats. I personally won't pay some company to advertise for them. I'm not going to pay Nike $20 to wear their logo.
The logo on the pads just seems tacky. Like others have mentioned - who, in a dark nightclub, is going to be able to see a logo on the pad of an MPC that's on a stage 5 feet above them? The only people that see these pads are the people that paid for them. The same people that don't want logos all over their gear. I spray painted the AKAI off of my MPC, and ducktaped the YAMAHA MOTIF off of my keyboard for a reason. Logos are tacky and cheap.
Even other bands playing the same night as you are usually respectful enough to not touch your gear without asking, and then if they do want to know about the gear, and where I got my wood panels, I used to tell them I got them from MPCstuff.com... but I guess since MPCstuff is putting their logo all over these things, they don't need the word of mouth presence, and feel they'd be better off with a visual presence (or non-visual presence according to the retaliation letter left by MPCstuff on this forum).
Thanks for changing from a dope parts company to another sell out crapshoot. Thanks Nike.
ps. your retaliation letter was disrespectful and rude. Don't get mad at your fans because they called you out on something they didn't like. "...it's just too bad that being MPCstuff isn't as cool or as lucrative as being Nike or Apple." **** you guys for talking down to us and assuming what we like. Also - when have you ever seen anyone walking around with a t-shirt that says "APPLE". If you guys really wanted to bastardize your product, get a logo, not a word-stamp.
FINALLY - anyone that has an MPC that wants to upgrade it (for example, after seeing the wood panelling on mine, or the fat pads, etc) is going to go straight to google and type in "MPC wood paneling", or "MPC fat pads", and guess what comes up first.
Let us know whenever you come to your senses and get rid of the ghetto ass logo (not that YOUR logo is ghetto... ALL logos are ghetto), and I might consider visiting your website again.
haha please, dude.

I'll buy the logo fat pads; I couldn't give a toss about the logo if it's a good product, and they are a decent price IMO.
This small electronic parts pricing business though, fook me!
But that seems to be the model for parts and has been for a long time and in most industries (maybe there's reasons?).
I needed two rotary encoders for an old E-mu sampler and the official seller was asking $55 shipped.
($25 was postage to Aust, get fooked, they weighed nothing and were not very big either)
Got the same parts from a UK electronics store for $17 shipped, so only one third of the price!
Good quality tact switches that are sealed and last for 1,000,000 plus operations are available and only cost about $1 each, so if you're replacing tacts look for these and you wont have to do the job again. Like you will have to with the official parts which are good for about 20,000 to 50,000 operations. Only scumbags could have had these parts put on the MPC when there were stronger ones that could have been used - it's a musical instrument that gets heavy use not a poxy TV.

hah. you're completely accurate...
you should've seen the construction of the original AKAI mpc1000 pressure sensor array.
truly pathetic.

Just have to say that the logo does turn me off. Anywhere else I can see... But not the pads. No hard feelings though. I'm very happy MPCstuff exists, and I'll continue to buy from them. If they do a regular light gray run without the logo, I'm all in.

You mean the rock solid, knuckle breaking, 6 month lasting individual pads...yes quite lame indeed.

1k users have been punched on the jaw AND kicked in the nuts by Akai!
A few tacts are starting to go on my 2500... not really looking forward to 'attempting' a repair.

I am a certified tact switch technician now lololol. I finally got fed up and changed them all. Its a shame that on a machine that is designed to get pounded on continuously, would be shipped with mediocre components.
But I still love my 1k lol.

Try cleaning them first, before more drastic measures. There's been some discussions on the subject.
