Well I have tryed with TC off and its better but still not perfect....I mean it pretty much sounds in time but it just isn't right....You know what I mean....Like there is always something that makes me re-record and then I get even more pissed off....

Hey I understnd ur problem, its the TC for sure...but not only the mpc has this "problem". Even Cubase won´t let u record your drums the way u played them. Ít´s simple, cuz all TC based Hardware/Software allways tries to put every note on the right tick. My suggestions for u is to put TC on 1/32 and reduce the swing to a minimum or 0%.

Yeah I tried this and it seems to work a little but still not perfect....Makes me feel like I don't know how to keep time which I do....Been producing for like 5 years and never had problems like this!!!!

I have also some probs with playing the drums with my fingers. Espacialy with fast and tough hihats. So i realized that sometimes you have to use the step edit mode to position your sounds perfectly. I think some patterns can´t be played by oneself cuz the mpc cannot correct human faults which where made during recording. I believe that the solution is Step Editing. Who confirms? ;)

Edit: Maybe the next OS brings TC up to 1/64 and 1/128. With that our timing probs would be almost past!

I don't know but I got this to boost up my production not stop it completly....Haven't been able to make any beats at home, not much of a problem at the studio....Been able to get some stuff down there but thats not the point....Any way thanks for the help that you guys have supplied but its not looking good for the 1k staying with me....I'll mess with it a little bit more but with no luck I will be getting rid of it....Its just sad when your ready for new gear and then it goes and throws your vibe all off!!!!

gunmetal, you seem to know so much indeed.

But don't you know that a setting of 50% means no swing at all ? (which the dude meant by saying 0% swing).

you also seem to know a lot about viruses (be carefull your mpc will get a virus if you put a hard disk in it. )

I have been producing for like 5 years so the fact that I can't make beats isn't the problem....I have made beats on a 1k before with no problem....but since I bought mine I can't use it....It's not just me either, I took it to the studio with me and let some other producers mess with it and shit sounded messed up too....So its not that I don't know how to produce, it's that this 1k is a piece of sh!t!!!!

I know that but like I said before, not the problem....I have plenty of tracks under my belt so me not being able to produce isn't even relevant....I have seen a few people on here who have owned MPC's, got the 1k and had the same problem....Another reason why I know it's not just me besides the fact that I let other producers that have been doing it for a while mess with it also!!!!

LaJ, what kind of music do u produce? At how much bpm? Are ur drums out of normal rythms?
For example I tried to rebuild the the Nuskool_Beat which comes with the 1k (intern memory). Everything except the highs are no problem. But I believe it is not possible to record this hihats in this groove exactly like its in the original, without using step edit mode. Dudes try it out and let me know....perhaps i am not right. but I tried it for over 1 hour and didn´t get it doesn´t matter which TC or Tsig...
