Here's how I do it.
HD CF card is cold storage. Have my samples folder, projects folder, orphan sequences & OSs stored there.
My CF car in the slot is smaller then the HD CF, that's where I keep my active projects and sampling, program making work.
I save entire memory in project files, and any new projects or samples I will pass on to the HD CF into the right folders. Once I finish a project I save the entire memory to the HD CF.
Once the smaller CF card in the slot fills up I make sure everything needed is passed to the HD CF and sometimes computer then format the smaller card and start over.
