hmmm let me pull it up and check....this is one of my first reason/mpc efforts, but the standalone mpc copy works fine as an instrumental just misses some of the bells and whistles of reason...

when you ask how many seqs i had before i put them in song mode, i'm a bit confused. usually i don't make all my seqs before putting em in song mode - i put em in song mode as i make my seqs, kind of winging it as i go. hence the tendancy of all my beats to end up like big solos, no choruses, seldom to never playing the same seq twice.

but there are a total of 21 eight bar sequences used, at 167 bpm - but that's on the mpc copy. i think i changed a little bit of the tail end on the final mixdown in acid, taking out 8 bars of that more arabic sounding guitar that comes in at the breakdown

i think just cuz some other guy can crank out beats on a certain instrument doesn't mean that instrument is the best for everyone - it's more how much time you put into it....

i don't hear traditional instrument players saying "which do the greats use, guitar or piano?"

at this point in time it's the right moment to see samplers as instruments - real instruments, classed among guitars and pianos. **** anyone who says otherwise, i'm a samplist who chooses the mpc1000 as his instrument and i'm goddamn proud of it - so i plan to better myself and find out every trick that this little machine can pulll.

"heat" "fire" "blaze"

heatmakers lack all of the above, they keep the thermostat lukewarm at best....

but this is definitely not the place for such truths to be told...although i just contributed to the polution
