So I'm curious, do you do all your arranging with the MIDI clips and Render to Disk? Or do you eventually bounce each track to audio? And if you bounce to audio, do you record each track from beginning to end or do you bounce each clip separately and arrange again? Thanks!

yeah i arrange with a mixture of midi and audio, tho sometimes i'll bounce each midi clip to audio to help out the cpu.

edit: i keep the audio dry sometimes too, so things like delays and reverbs can work in real time.

hope this helps

Is there any way you guys have found to send a start message in Live from one of the sequences?

Application: Live5 is playing is playing all the loops and MPC is slave to MTC. I want to drop the MPC out of sync to do something in half-time and then fall back into sync. We've found that if the MPC is already playing and you hit start in Live the MPC will see sync and just start following BUT that requires stopping what Live is doing. Does that make sense? Just trying to send a start message from a loop without having to restart the WHOLE sequence. Only been able to find this in Logic/DP type sequencers...

i'm not sure this is possible, but try just creating an empty clip in a midi track, and then setting it's output to your midi interface that the mpc is connected to, and making sure in Options|Preferences under the Midi/Sync tab, that your midi interface has the sync switched on on its output.

like i said, i'm not sure this'll work, but give it a go, i will try later too.

good luck

Does anyone know if i make a midi drum pattern in the mpc, can i later export it to Live as a midi clip so i can arrange it in terms of song sequencing?

Save as .SMF then import that into Live. It should be all tracked out, named and everything

theres always abletons beat repeat effect, not quite what your talking about, but i've had a lot fun using it with beats made on my 1k.

anyone tried running their 1k through the beat repeat live? (using it on audio coming directly outta the 1k)
