Hey man all u gota do is check my link to know im not wack, so watever dude. ive had the mpc1000 for 2 months, ive made some really good stuff on it, im just sayin, if i had the chance to play around with it b4 i bought it, i probly wouldnt have copped one, i probly woulda jus got a mpd16 or some shit.. but watever, i didnt start this thread to start a beef, im just asking if anyone else had the same thoughts

i dont think anyone on this forums site would think the mpc 1k had a poor sequencer lol , then ur sayin all the other ones do too , computer sequencer and tha mpc sequencer is differnt , u gotta sit down and understand completely then you'll know why the mpc 1k has a sick sequencer.

one thing for sure::
to sequence hardware gear, mpc is more solid than fruity
pc midi interfaces have crap timing


aside from that, fruity is good and mpc is good

ive learned both,
its all about vibe honestly...

the process of using the mpc just has its own vibe

music is about expressing yourself

whatever process seems most creative... most fun... most direct ...
use that

After reading this i got into the sequencer on my asr10 and its kinda close to the mpc's

I'm gonna sell my 2000xl (yeah, i switched from the 1000 don't hate) and cop madtracker! The Best sequencer: around hahaha

I've actually worked with this for like 2years or sumthin.... The early days.....

The sequencer rules. I am picky about my drums, I often spend time moving them 1 or 2 thingies digits away from their spot. The MPC sequencer is very quick, and very accurate, as well as very capable. Want to switch time signatures? Its very easy. Change tempos, cut/paste, shift timing, really anything you could want for pop music. Maybe not optimized for orchestral/ film score type sequencing---A piano roll and bigger screen might help there. But for programming loops and songs, it's "Very Nice".

The 1000 can be tricky for step editing compared to a TR or piano style editor. It's a matter of getting your head around it. It is THE best for getting an idea out before it goes away. I tend to do all the polish in Nuendo, especially for melodies, harmonies etc and the put it back in the MPC for tracking and live applications. It's a tool, hang in there and you'll get more familiar with it and will come to love it.

i messed with FL before i was able to mess with the 1K... comparing the difficulty [at first] between the two i would say that FL was easier to pick up... but after learning how to use the 1K, i'd definitely pick the 1K over FL anyday... honestly, i think it's all personal preference... some people like this, and some people like that... just use the one that 'helps' your workflow... master of one is better than master of none...

Definitely bought the 1000 OVER the 2K and the 4k just does a lot of stuff that I didn't need and wasn't as portable. 1K=bigger bang for the buck than the 2k.

i bought it to get used to akai mpc's , im savin to get a 4000 or a 2500 , no doubt the 1000 is hella dope , and i'll keep it forever homie

Nope, because it was the ONLY MPC i DIDNT own. I got all of em. Piece
