Thats just the thing....I don't see anyone in this thread denying that there was a problem and it has been fixed - I do however see yet another thread with folks just straight moaning again (and again, and again, and again...... - add infinitum)

Seems these boards are clogging up lately with threads like these (Lawsuits, Fuukk Akai etc) - I mean, come on - we all know there is/was a problem - I'm not defending Akai in any way - but I would definately buy another product from them. At the end of the day without Akai - what would we really have? - A third party operating system... Folks seem to be only too happy concentrating on the negative at the moment.

What i'm trying to say in short I guess is lets see this forum get back to what it should be - A helpful, upbeat place to share tips and tricks - And not a constant regurgitation of all the same gripes people have had for what seems like ages!

Like has been said before - its just plain tired - and my heart sinks when I log in here to see what everone has been up to - to see if any cool tips are here etc only to be met with another glut of threads like this....

Forget it and move on guys!

Anyway thats my tuppence worth

my thoughts excactly

If you didn't own a 1000, or let's say your 1000 got destroyed in a fire. Would you or would you not buy another mpc1000? Knowing everything that you know now, would you do it or not? (assuming you had the dough).

honestly, no! people act like this IS the machine 4 bangin, but really in today's market they're are so many other options. i like the 1k. but if it broke i would get another brand.
and i ordered my pads today, so my attitude might change a little.

Yeah I know there is alot of complaints around the board. And Im one of the main complainers (LOL)!

But I agree with Ant. I definitely and absolutly would not buy another product from akai. If anything did happen (trust me, enough has happened to it by itself... no thanks to that stupid @$$ design) to my mpc 1000 (God in my heart and heaven forbid) I would go on ebay and get it 2nd hand.

I will always be pissed about this issue.

And I feel that this company wronged me so... I rather spend my hard earned money elsewhere.

I hope and pray that all those who deside to continue to buy products from akai/numark/alesis will purchase an MPC that lasts them for years and not DESIGNED to break like the mpc 1000.

and im sorry that im in total opposition of anyone who thinks why i shouldn't be upset!

I remember this old saying.

"You get what you pay for."

I think that's funny.

cuz it's the horrible truth.

eventually... these threads will get locked out/deleted if people complain enough.

tell me... just because you have a problem, why SHOULD everyone else have a problem with it. I agree with Westlogic... I still use the akai OS. hell i still even have the original 1k (red and blue) I didn't upgrade the pads and I NEVER had a problem with my 1k. never had a saving issue, bad directory or pad issue. so to state your opinion with your BAD experience with akai is fine but like i said above, if you have a problem with something doesn't mean everyone should have a problem with it.

now to the complainers... no disrespect to my dudes, Antonym, distorted and 'em, if you have to complain all the time would mean one of several reasons: you really don't know what you're doing or ___________(fill in the blank) you have several options to make sure you never have a problem again: give up making beats, live with it, or try and fix it (like Antonym)

you never heard about Pete Rock, Premo, Large Professor, Bomb Squad, RZA or any of the old school cats complain and look at the stuff they used. Their gear was much more limited than what we use today and listen to all the classics they have out. and these are also the cats that most of us look up to as far as producing. imagine having 2 seconds of sampling time. what would you do

bottom line dog, please instead of using your fingers to type a complaint on here and trying to tell others "...you SHOULD have a problem with it..." use your fingers and bang out some beats.

i'm clear!

I appreciate that Sparq for clarifying and agreeing with me on this topic.

sparq your whole reply is beside the point

akai screwed the customer

i don't have problems making beats and music besides the MTC code for tracking (solved by jj os)

but it aint the point

the 1000 should be fixed by akai in a recall for the pad problem

just like if pete rock was using the sp1200 and it had a button problem that was fixed with all the new ones i'm sure he'd feel the same way

so lick dem mutha's

my whole reply was based off of the fact that you said "...you SHOULD have a problem with it" and since you are referring to the 1k's problems, i stated that I never had a problem with mine and I had mine since '04

yo sparq sense u never had problems with ur 1k can u clarify how u never lost ur track by using "edit move" also how did u manage to extract chops from pp with the offests being all screwed up? ohh and another thing how did u manage to use song mode with tempos being all **** up when u switch from tempo to tempo? how did u not have problems saving ur song to a folder without having a screen of death pop up? and how did u move around in step editor when out the shift key no longer in the programs source to move between notes with "shift+digit" but ya dude let us know how akai didnt fail u we all like to hear ur side... shit i may even revert back to akai os if ur talkn the truth :) for now my jj os freebie is great ...

As for me, Naugie, the problems you wrote down, I haven't experienced in the years I have own the MPC1000. The "edit move" I used rarely, but haven't lost any tracks in the times I did. When I extract I usually use sliced samples, instead of patched phases. In song mode, the tempo is on point when using multiple sequences with different tempos. As for saving a song, I usually did "Save All Seq and Songs" and no screen pop ups or any mis happens. What do the screen of death look like? As long as I been on this forum, someone is having difficulties with Akai OS or just the MPC itself, which in I haven't encountered, except the pads, which was only two pads, that was malfunctioning. I been with this MPC1000 since May '05, so why am I not having these problems or complains about the product?

Yea, I upgraded to the new pads, I didn't complain, I seen it as an investment and improvement.

frankly a lot of people are bitching just to **** because everyone else does it.
a lot of people are bitching and they've only had the mpc 1 week and haven't experienced the pad problem and is only bitching because they feel it's their right to **** although they haven't experienced the problem.

everybody just sees the negative and shit. i've dealt with a lot of shit in music equipment and i've always worked around those shortcomings.
i just find it funny that everyone hates the 1k and still uses it daily to knock out beats. dumbasses. THERE ARE ALTERNATIVES, AND A LOT OF THEM ARE PRETTY GOOD ASWELL!

I paid more for my mpc than probably anyone of you did, and i had pad problems. But i had warranty, so whenever a pad went to hell i got it covered easy and smooth.

i'll give it about an hour before people start accusing me of being an akai employee from....NOW!

dude are u blind? alot of people have the same problems not with the os and pads but with akai gear in general..i paid 1450 with no warranty back then and i was pimpn os1.07..u got ur mpc with an os with a shit load more than what i got mine for and i still have the same errors on os2.11 that were in os1.07..we arent revolting just to have a revolution..this is real on whats goin on..people are effected by akai not delivering quality for the price we paid. all we wanted as musicians was a working os and pads that dont break..

look at the history ..shit dude even a third party developer jumped into the scene and repaired all the bugs from akai os and gave it to us for free and released a fullversion with a shit load of features that are new to any mpc..and then we got antonym who worked on his own pad fix for the problem cause akai wasnt doin shit for 3 years on either the os or the pads..they didnt do anything until we scream lawsuit and then they deleiverd a pad fix..u understand the seriousness of this all..we changed the direction of akai cause we came together and made the change..akai wasnt gonna do a recall...they werent gonna do shit.

akai had no choice but to give us our pads with it we paid a price agin..but atleast we got a pad fix and akai is still in buisness..if akai did a recall they would of gone out of buisness..

look bro man u wanna call us liars do so until u realize we werent talkn shit..ur mpc will break and then ull cry victim.
