Anyone ever use the red screen?

If you ever see it, post it in this thread please.

you can see some pics of an mpc2500 with a red screen in this thread here:

the screen should look the same in the 1000.

Covering the Akai logo no doubt. I covered mine with electrical tape. Support from this company has really turned me off. I still love some of their products, and I am very thankful for the inovations from Akai over the years. To me, it just seems like the quality has gone down in recent years. Almost deffinately due to Akai being bought out by Numark. These are very expensive instruments that should at the very least be built to last and perform the way they are advertised. Especially with the word "professional" in their company name... I will rant no more.

Quack: What do you mean you "ruberized the dials" and how did you do it?

i was bored and bought these knobs from radio shack.. 4-pack for $4.. mpcstuff has the same knobs for $12 for 2 and about 19.50 after s&h..

they are a bit jerky and not as smooth as i would like them to be.. but i rarely move the volume or the gain so ehh i guess its just for show..

will that make them sit lower or will it just remove the feel like its rubbing something when you turn it?.. because if hey sit lower it looks like the main knob will make contact with that plug right under it...
