MPC1000 black and OS 2.0 press release on akaipro Japan

"it would have been smarter before christmas."

The statement makes little sense. Why would it be smarter to release before christmas? If they wait until after christmas but before new years, are they not "smart" anymore?

I thought it was smart to release software when it is well designed, tested and bug-free. We get enough of rushed, incomplete, and buggy software from Microsoft as it is. Does AP need to do it too? You make it sound like they are either "just sitting on it" or just waiting around to code it in all one day. Neither of which is true.

None of those sound any better.

Maybe I missed something in that press release, but did they mention the zone feature (for trimming samples)? That was one of the most used features when I owned a 2000xl.

i hear some people say the pads on the 1000 arent thast good. i wonder if the bk will have a little better build and will it be more expensive??

I've seen your video (several times), and secondly the reason why I asked because I figured that when they finally release a "working final" copy of the new OS, it might not have everything that your version had (maybe more, or less features. Its possible! You already stated that yours has some bugs... Anyways, I was just asking for some clarification thats all... wasnt trying to "ruffle anyones feathers".

Is there a way to backup the OS on a MPC 1000 to a CF?

(I know yall are feeling me now) hmmmmm

If the MPC 1000 (Black) is on a showroom floor and the OS 2 has not released for the 1K Blue, can I backup the display model OS on my CF and take it to the crib?

i know where you're going with this and i thought about it with the 2.5k os to see if i can put it on the 1k to get the grid edit (which by the way is mode pad15 on the 2.5k) to no avail. there is no way (that i know of) to back up the os to a CF card

If Akai releses the 1K black and does not make OS 2 available to the Blue owners right away. What would stop the owners of the 1K black from sharing a possible back-up CF with the OS to Blue Owners?

The 2500 comes with the OS backup on CF right?
Are they gonna do the same with the 1K black or are they just going to post the new OS on the support section of the website?

yeah if it's on the cf card like it is on the 2500 we will get it from them, even if i have to go to gc, buy a black mpc, take it home, copy the os from the card and then take it back the next day.
