Ok...I think it is time to quit this thread because there are so many more that need attention

Sure, I really do try to understand why some would be pissed off. But many of you had every opportunity to return the MPC 1000 when it was under warranty. Many of you knew exactly what you were getting yourself into yet you still made the purchase. Its been over 4 years and still we have the same complaints. At what point do you move on? Before Akai released OS 2.0, the 1000 couldn't do many of the things a 2000/2000XL could do. But you still created music with it. Since that is the case, pick yourself up an MPC 2000/2000Xl. You can find them as cheap as 1000s today and they have held up fine for quite some time now....

seems that topic went from "akai releasing new pads" to "new mpc pads to be releasde next month". Could i be a pain and ask about the source of this information. I dont know vst part from ive visited their website. What are their sources? Was the information more like "yes akai has been developing this pads and are going to relese them X date" official statement or "dude akai s releasing new pads; awesome" .

But you say the pads are faulty. I would disagree. I might agree they weren't the best quality or maybe up to the job, but they don't leave the factory faulty.

bought mine brand new when the 1000's first came out and the pads were messed up....returned it and the next brand new one i got had at last 6 pads that were REALLY messed up, and AGAIN this was brand new straight out the box! i ended up going back to guitar center (for a third time) and they let me try out a couple in the store until i found one where the pads WEREN'T messed up......so just so you know THEY DID LEAVE THE FACTORY FAULTY.

if you have had almost no pad problems all this time you should be very thankful. but to think all these other people complaining about pad issues are just doing it because they have nothing better to do is straight ignorance on your part.

peace.

It took me 10 minutes to demo the MPC 1000 to realize that it was not for me. If took you 3 times to get an MPC 1000 whose pads actually worked? That's crazy..I wouldn't have given away $800 for something that I knew/suspected to be faulty. Now that would be ignorant.

So yes, I believe people are complaining about pads because they have nothing better to do. The pads have been inferior for 4 plus years...many of your warranties have expired long ago. No amount of complaining you do will change the fact that you will have to spend $100-$200 for Nym or Akai to fix the pads of an MPC 1000 whose warranty expired long ago.

I don't mind the simple-minded morons......I don't hate the 1000 since we don't have a personal relationship. I suck at real life as much as the same people that complain about broken pads and a reported bug-infested OS in this forum for the past 2-4 years. If I am an elitist because I saw a product that needed work and bypassed spending money on it..then so be it. If I am an elitist by pointing out the alternatives to using such a headache (as some of you report) then so be it. I would say that I just used logic. Even a 5-year old would have come to the same conclusion

That leaves me in the same boat, unfortunately :P However, what I do is not complain or whine. I simply pointed out the facts. Does the truth hurt? Probably so. Will people buy MPC 1000s..knowing of the problems..yet appear in the forums complaining about these specific problems they were warned about? Probably so. But don't mind me....it's not going out of my way to report on this. From MPCs pads to Jacpot claiming Kanye stole his track..this is just comedy..nothing to get worked up about..unless you take these things personally. If that is the case, I apologize in advance.

Be easy.

You didn't start the thread but you did particpate with quoting a person quoting me ???

But anyway, I recognize you have a very keen queer eye...but I am a boy hotdamnit and I have a weekend planned for planting my seed in a young lady. Maybe you should do the same  Either that or dust off the 3 year old tracks you have stored on your hard drive and sell them before someone else samples the same song....

PS....while yall are still talking abouts pads and the OS..dudes like this cat here are gettin busy:

If you knew me, you would know that getting knocked da fuk out is something I would never worry about. Don't let my 20 inch arms fool you.

Make music? Why would I want to add unnessecary wear-n-tear on my MPC 2500 and other music production tools. I just keep all my gear dusted off so it looks pretty.

Piece of advice: Focus on using what you have. Step your game up and buy an MPC (or an alternative) that will not break down. You will have les stress and live much longer. Or you can stay here going back and forth with me and keep dreading the day you spent your college tuition on a drum machine that you can't use.

Of course no link to your music....... :D
