still no new OS from akai with the "additional support for manufacturing" that nick said was coming.
i will be ordering this and seeing if it works with the jj os
if not, i'm selling that shit immediately unless i get confirmed from JJ that he'll code them into the OS

hmmm.. 179 for pads...
I think I'll get a Padkontrol for 185 and save my existing pads until all this is verified.
Thanks to those of you working on this....

I just got word that most of the pad kit is in stock but Akai is
waiting for the last piece which is suppose to be in next week. I'll be
adding them to our web store as soon as possible and in the meantime we'll
be taking pre-orders. Akai will be selling them for $199, we'll be selling
them for $179, and we'll install them for an extra $35.
Feel free to let the forums know that the pads will be here soon and people
can order now.

that's good news dude... looking forward to getting this shyt fitted...
i reckon it'll probably clock in well over $200 for us oz users. at least AU$300
is my stab in the proverbial.
i could care less at this stage - just want the damn things to work!
nym - so you reckon they'll be able to code JJ out? or the new components
or hardware they replace will be incompatible with JJ's fine work?
in fact... what will be replaced? are we going to require a new PCB?
if anyone knows....
cheers

still can't believe they are calling it an "upgrade" been discussed before but utterly disgusted that akai wont fess up and have a recall instead.....

Recalls are for saftey issues only, I dont think your pads are hurting you in anyway.
An update though would be nice...at least for people that really purchased them at a store more recently.

You're not alone on this issue, as you know. But we gotta move on since Akai definitely won't do that. So the best we can hope for is that this kit will last a long time without any defects.... especially for the price and for the hassle of dealing with the original pads. At this point, I'd be extremely satisfied. But JJ needs to come up with the code to make these new pads work properly.

Yeah i'm definetly hoping that JJ will find a way to make the new pads work with his os.I'm also wondering if all of the authorized Akai service centers will have the new pads in stock.I'm still under Guitar Center's warranty and i hope that if i ship my mpc out to their service center that they will install the new pads for free.

God im glad I live 20 minutes from pasadena.
I have the Nym solution but it's just not the same.. all my pads work but nothing like the 2000 pads or even when my 1000 pads were brand new..
after buying these akai replacements its gonna be a lot of money ive put into this damn thing!!!
so wait, will the new pads work with my JJ OS or will I be screwed????

JJ needs to write some new code to make the pads work. We're working on communicating with JJ, so that everything can fall into place in a timely manner.

nicee.. the moment we've all been waiting for. some new activity! i'm stoked about the pads. but i have a feeling the jj thing will work out. i was optimistic about new pads, i can do the same with a jj issue.
it'll be fun to install the new pads tho
