THIS ISN'T COMMON PRACTICE (at your own risk),

I think I'll pass then. Thanks for the heads-up!

I'm sure to break things....

I'm 37 and waited a LONG time to get an MPC (I was 36 when it arrived at my door) and don't want to push it.

It's really easy to replace LEDs. If the PCBs are marked positive and negative, then it's even easier. The best and easiest way to replace them is with a desolderding iron.
If I had a camcorder, I'd make a video. Maybe I'll bring my MPC over to my brother's house when it's time to replace the LEDs and have him record it so I can post it on youtube.

That would be huge! Thanks D..

huh, sorry! no intention to be mean. :) just had a talk with my friend who was bitchin about how much he hates blue leds & LCDs and he was so serious about the aesthetics... was quite funny with the arguments.

From what I've seen, Alex's prices for the Blue LEDs are pretty good. So I just ordered 10 of them. When they arrive, I'll make arrangements with my brother to shoot a youtube video to help out those who would like to install their own LEDs.

from looking at alex's avatar, it appears that the blue LEDs are darker than the LCD display. but it's still a better match than to leave the green LEDs in.

Sup Dj Solace!
Yeah i was waiting for a comment like that
I cant wipe it! What happened was after a put i covered the mp in white vinyl i used those rub on lettering to put all the text back on, after that i used a clear coat but i bought the wrong one (should have used a gloss coat, but i didnt want it shiny) so now the clear coat is coming off or breaking down the the dirt just get stuck on there, you can see where i place my hands and fingers the most!
but i kind like the dirt (Helps keeps my beats dirty and grimy)
anyway may change the color soon!
Peace!

The screen actually looks darker than that it does in the picture. I have other images that better represent the colors that I'll post it tomorrow. The blues work together quite well.
