thanks, i didn't know they don't require you to pay in advance.

hopefully (atleast for me), but doubtfully, that makes the mpc-stuff wait shorter

got an e-mail from mpc-stuff saying that akai is shipping out pads in a few days. :D :D
it was a pretty apologetic e-mail considering i had'nt been waiting that long (or atleast it feels that way)
hopefully all goes according to plan and we get the pads within the next few weeks.

My pads work fine for now. (Blue MPC 1000) I'm thinking of getting the upgrade as soon as I get the money. I don't mind waiting for them as the one's I have work fine.

I just know I'm going to need them sooner or later.

I got the same E-mail. I've been waiting for about two months now. I also bought some new side panels, a replacement button, and several LED's. My Mp looks like its taken a serious beating, so I'm trying to customize it a little. Main thing is the new pads though... Can't wait.

Can't get it now, don't have the money. And I think when I will have it, they won't be available. Oh well I'll just wait until these pads die.

Now I'm afraid to touch them.

yeah, in addition to the e-mail mentioned above. I guess it just takes some time to pick and pack 'em (if they do it in the order of preorders).

I got mine and installed it yesterday. Nice! The free shirt isn't all cotton, which is disappointing.

I wrote up something about sticking down the sensor sheet, since the video doesn't show them doing it and it's the only "un-undoable" step in the installation. This method is what a bookbinder would do and you could even squeegee the sheet down as you remove the backing from the other side:

Start by peeling to reveal half an inch of adhesive on the edge with the ribbon connector. Fold the wax paper over sharply. Turn the sensors over and line the holes up carefully. Once you're lined up you can push down and stick the sticky half inch on the left edge. Finally, reach under and slowly and evenly pull the paper from below as you push down from the top.
