EEeesh! two Dave's and a monomachine, nice. Whats the unit in the rack? Got any examples of your work? Been thinking of aquiring a new synth, whats the monomachine like? Haven't been able to get near one for a play. Got any suggestions for a new one. I have G2 at the mo, which is lovely but want to expAND.

in the rack is my beloved machinedrum...best tool for making the soundtrack to a maverick cyborg's first acid trip.

monomachine is absolutely killer, I just got it about a month ago and I'm still digging deep into it. it's extremely flexible and easy to use. it's definitely not a traditional VA, though.

I would love to play a G2...I used to own the classic modular one and it was just too cool...almost got lost when I was editing patches, though...easy to lose focus! If you're looking for a new synth, you might want to check on the Evolver...it's only a monosynth, but it's true analog and has an extremely wide sonic palette...only $500 too. otherwise you might want to try to cop a Virus C, which have recently come down in price due to the TIs coming out.

what kind of music do you make with it? (not a challenge at all, im just curious)

I'm on an acid/drum breaks/d&b/IDM/triphop type of vibe. main influences being aphex twin, prefuse73, nine inch nails, pete rock, lee perry, mario caldato, and james brown.

program_insect - nice setup man! you got all the elektron hardware and two evolvers... thats insane! I have and Evolver and a SidStation and they're two of my favorite synths in my entire setup, along with my MC-202 and DX200. I'd like to buy a Poly Evolver Keyboard one of these days. The mono version still keeps me very busy. Some day I'll buy a MachineDrum as well. From what I understand, the 808 style kick has more decay than the Roland. Have you upgraded the MachineDrum with the UserWave yet? Thats some 12 bit madness right there!

do all of ya`ll use a computer for producing? i need to get on that. all i use is an MPC a tape deck, a mixer, an 8-track and stero reciveer. what are the benifits of using a computer?

because once u have a nice track

u can record it to the pc and edit it there - whatever way you need to

there is so much software out there that you can use to help you make music

record it to my pc

edit it there

it can easilly get more complicated tho. if anyone else feels like elaborating

but if you record your samples to your computer first, doesnt it sound like a computer sample? i have dont that before and it didnt sound like an MPC recorded sample. What i used to do it record my samples to a reel to reel recorder and then transfer it to my sampler and it gave it such a nice sound......

whatever sample you have should not sound any different playing it through your pc or any other equipment you have

- unless you alter it using an effect
