Carry Case For MPC 1000?

Hi. Anyone know of any good carry cases/padded bags for the MPC 1000?

I just use a dell laptop bag, works pretty well for me.

yeh i was wondering the same thing. i dont want the pads and buttons getting scuffed the **** up in a backpack

I used an aluminum case from Home depot and glued some thick foam pads on the top and bottom.... IUt leaves enough space for extra wires and such...

Basically, a properly built ATA case is durable enough so that the mentally retarded chimpanzees who handle your luggage at airports won't break all your stuff. In some cases and in some countries, the airlines won't insure your stuff unless it is stored in a properly built ATA case.

It is what most professional touring musicians use for protecting their gear, even if they aren't going to be flying. They are pretty damn rugged. The only thing comparable would be a Pelican case... But I prefer an ATA style case because you can get them custom made specifically for your gear.

My sister picked me up a gig bag from burton. It was designed to hold a laptop, mixer, headphones, fx (kaoss pad probably), lots of cables, etc. The mixer section is a little roomy for the mpc, but it has *plenty* of pockets. She got me last year's model, but this one looks pretty serious too...

Pelican make some sturdy, air tight, water proof cases in all sorts of sizes and shapes. They are pretty hardcore...

this one with wheels fits some cables and other gear and is carry on size for flights...

i jus used the poly from the orginal MPC box and cut it down to size in an aluminum carry case.. very snug.

^ thats EXACTLY what I did. If the foam is good enough to ship and the MPC's survive getting tossed in a truck they will be just fine in my back seat while I drive to the studio.

WhenItake flights with the MPC, it is always a carry on. Anything over $100 for a carrying bag is overkill in my opinion....... Unless you travel with it alot (Everyday). If you do alot of liver performances than I can see it being justified. $250 ishalf way to a New MPC500 or a used 2000xl (Some times).......



But this is coming from a guy whodoes not make any money with his MP.....

If you buy a good case, you will recoup some of the cost back when you resell your gear. For example, if you spend $200 on a case, you can probably add at least another $100 to your asking price of the gear when you resell it. (just make sure you sell the case and the gear as one package).

And unlike electronics, a case doesn't lose value as quick. A good case will still be a good case 50 years from now. Where as, in 50 years your MPC will be a dinosaur, if it still works at all.
