I went as far as I could with the help of the manual.. Im trying to just track my beats from my 1000 into pro tools through mbox 2. I gotta midi in on mpc to midi out on mb2 then I got 2 audio cables going from the outs on the mp to the mono outs on the mb2. Is this right? I also set midi beat clock up in pro tools and set my mp midi settigns to sync 1a. Still i get no audio or midi feedback in pro tools. Is it my connections, sumtin in the mp, something in pro tools? Thanks for your help.

This is something I got off of Nicoles Myspace Blog... ( I forget her screen name here)
It worx for me...... And you mentioned thatyou have the outs from the MPC going into the outs of the Mbox2, that is wrong. I have the outs of the MPC going into Input 1 and input 2 (DI) inputs.... This is as far asI have gotten so far. Hope it helps.

For triggering the MPC1000 using MIDI Beat Clock with Pro Tools as the master device:
NOTE: (The only type of sync the MPC1000 has and can use is MIDI Beat Clock.)
1) Use a MIDI cable to connect the MIDI OUT of your Digidesign hardware (or M-Audio if using M-Powered) to one of the MIDI Inputs of the MPC1000.

In the MPC1000:
2) Go to the "MIDI/Sync" menu.
3) Set "Sync In" to the corresponding MIDI input port on the MPC.

In Pro Tools:
4) Set your tempo in Pro Tools. (See instructions at the bottom of this page.)
5) Go to the Setup menu and choose MIDI Beat Clock. Check the boxes for "Enable MIDI Beat Clock" and the corresponding MIDI output port.
6) Press play. The MPC should now be playing along with Pro Tools.
NOTE: (Make sure that the value for bars, in the MPC, is NOT set to zero. If it is set to zero, it will not be triggered.)

Does anyone know if this setup above will play it back with pro tools timing thus losing the mpc's swing?

So far, everything I have done in this setup has worked just as I recorded it.
