hi peeps :)

ive got a very bad problem :(

ive made some tracks with some FX on it...
one sample is over 2bars long and use the FX-section as serial (two FX in serial)
and the mainFX is using the compressor (very strange adjusting)
*oh, sorry about my poor english... i hope u understand me (i'm a german)*

ok, well, all is runing very well but if i connect my TB-303 via MIDI (im using the DOEPFER MSY2 Midi to Sync converter) to the MPC1K and turn on all Tracks the timing of my TB seems to go out of the timing of the MPC...
the syncronisation go down :(

but if i turn off the long sample-track (which is runing over 2 bars) and press stop - start the timing is correkt then :?: :!:

some1 know this timingproblem?
what can i do to work around this shi-t?

thx for all help

I'd think if the MIDI clock was running, it shouldn't matter how long of a sample you've got playing. DO you have a PC or MAC? Something you can run a MIDI monitor on, and see what the MPC is putting out?

Also, when the TB303 goes out of sync, is it just slowly going out of sync, or is it off from the moment you press start?

I'm curious if there's extra MIDI info on the track you're turning off (with the long sample) that's choking up the 303.

could be you're sending the 303 lots of sysex info. maybe it got recorded onto a track somehow. my juno106 kinda spits that stuff out in excess. some synths' midi implementation dont handle it very well.

the clock is running out slowly, maybe after 10-20 seconds

ive got a PC but i doesnt have some MIDI-Monitors :(

i've just send the clocksignal to the TB (im using the internal secqencer of the TB)

i've turn off one of the effekt for the long sample and it seems to work but now i've put 2 new hihatloops (1 bar long) into 2 new tracks, every first step of the bars the loops is starting new and the "out of sync" problem is back now :x

shi-t thats very f*ck  ....

need help plz

Do you have a sequencer on your PC? If you sync that to the MPC, does the same thing happen then?

This worries me and my TB a bit... :)

By co2 Thu Mar 18, 2004 8:58 am
no i dont have a seqencerprogram fo my PC :(

but i've testing a bit with the clockdivider on the Doepfer MSY2:
i've switch to an half of the incomming clocksignal (1/2; 145bpm to 72,5bpm)

RESULT: no runing out of sync now (i've left running the system over 2 min's)....

the Doepfer MSY2 CAN use a powersuply (9V, 100mA) but dont MUST have one.... i dont use a powersupply for the MSY2 because the MIDI-signal have the power to "keep it alive"... maybe this is the problem!

how much V/A have the MPC at the MIDI-OUT?

By Tiny Thu Mar 18, 2004 9:11 am
If it's been working one way, that shouldn't be the problem I think... Although it wouldn't hurt testing. Maybe you have a power supply with the right specs on some other machine, just to test?

A thought... Are all tracks Midi out setting turned off?

By co2 Thu Mar 18, 2004 9:11 am
no its not the problem :( ive tested it with a powersuply now.... no change :( :(

but ive seen that the CLOCK-LED of the MSY turn OFF when i press STOP on the MPC...
all my other devices (Korg ES1 and ELECTRON MASCHINEDRUM) dont do that :?: ...they only send a STOP-signal thru the MIDI-Cables but the CLOCK-signal is stay alive on all other devices ?!?!

is it a bug?

...and when i press stop at the MPC while my KORG ES1 is running the DELAYTIME of the KORG is changing...???? why?

omg... tomorrow ive do a LiveAct at the disco... :(

EDIT: All Tracks do not sending out anything (MIDI is turned OFF)

WHY ???

im confused now :?

when im in the MIDI-Menu at page SYNC and press the START-Button all works fine.... but if i press TRACK MUTE -Button (the page wher u can switch on/off the Track by pressing the Pad's) the sync go out of syncronisation . . . WTF :x

i think its a very shitty bug in OS V1.03 :( :(

Describe it as thoroughly as possible and mail it to Akai.
