last steps in finishing a beat?

hello to all......I have read several posts on this subject, one posted by myself as well, but am still confused.....Once I have mixed down and finalized my track what on board effects should I use to make it sound more complete? I was just leaving them as is, but recently i purchased t racks and have been using the stereo enhancer compressor "2 to 1".....everyone seems so knocked out by these onboard tools yet i havent even gotten my feet wet in them.....so in other words, what would you suggest i use to help strengthen and finalize my sequence? thank you.......very very much. I depends what kind of ambiance you want to have in your tracks, but you can definitly use: stereo expenders, wormers, eqs, compressors, limiters, reverbs, bass boosters, etc. To tell you the truth: I have few favorites plugins from Waves, but I never use them the same way. It always depends of the track, so I just do what sounds right to my ears. So, play around with the sound, to make it sound like you wan it to sound, and also if you are doing final mixes try to make it sound as loud as possible.
