Compact Flash in HDM-10?

Hi there! Is anyone using a compact flash adapter in the HDM-10 a la something like http://www.pcengines.ch/cflash.htm ?

Wait up before you call me crazy - is the IDE data bus any faster than the CF one on the front? I'm never going to need a bajillion gigglebytes for a hard disk, and CF would be way less freaky if my MPC took some bumps.. no?

I am not aware of anyone trying this. The MPC 1000 can be finicky with the type of hardware it likes (some people have had trouble installing certain HDs for example). It sounds like a good idea, but if you aren't willing to sacrifice the time and money and have it not work, I would just go for a HD. HDs get abuse in laptops all the time, and I am thinking a fall that could kill a HD is just as likely to irreparably damage something else in the MPC 1000.

You never know what you are going to want to use the HD for, anyway. You might change your mind on wanting a bajillion gigglebytes for something.

if the cf adaptor has native drivers then it should work. key word is should.
