Problems with digital out.

I am using MPC's digital out to connect it to my EMU 1212 sound interface and the sound is good and clear, but the problem is that from time to time it introduces some cracks, clicks and pops just like vinyl. They are not too heavy but when I am trying to record something silent they make the sound unusable. Does anyone has any advice or had problems before with digital out?

Oh and yeah I am using correct bit rate and khz in my emu's preferences as i said the sound is coming through but it just make me mad when you are recording that perfect bass line when suddenly a load click is recorded also. F*ck it.. the cables are also ok, I tried changing them - it is the same...
