ok...so im new. i've spent the last hour reading up on what i could on the 1000. seems like a pretty popular sampler nowadays. I used to use the 2000xl which i still have tucked away somewhere in my garage along with a 16 track recorder.
i stopped making music for 2 years but i've suddenly had the urge to delve back into it, but i dont really want to put my little makeshift studio back together or dedicate too much time to it. i just want something to mess around with that i could easily use with my computer (i.e. - make a full beat and then just either record live or dump a track into whatever music program i might have on my pc).
i went to guitar center and sam ash to look at it. is there any difference from the black 1000 and the blue and red one that came out a few years ago? anyway guitar center didnt have the 1000 on display so i was messing with the 500 and seems pretty neat, but i think i rather go with the 1000 because of the screen and it just seems more official. anyway the guys at the store usually dont know anything about samplers they are always pushing the software and all that, so that trip was pretty much useless.
so basically i have some questions. sorry about this whole story. i just want to know can the 1000 pretty much do everything the 2000xl did? or is it better?
i read some of the topics about recording onto pc using usb, but the answers didnt clear up too much. so can you actually record directly to a pc program using usb? the guy at the store said no but he seemed really clueless and unsure.
also i pretty much knew the 2000xl inside and out...which makes me familiar to other mpcs but now i see something about a JJ OS? would it be like learning the mpc all over again or is it more of the same with a few extra features?
if these are redundant questions i apologize...if you could answer or link me to where i could find the answers i appreciate it...thanks.
