samples not there after i shut off,

so ya i just bought the mpc 1000 my first mpc it seems cool i made sum phat drum loops and saved all songs n sequences or whatever onto the media disk but if i turn off the unit and turn it back on the sequence file will load from the card fine but no sounds will be played ,the sounds are also on the card,can sum1 help

Try saving everything as a Project then load the whole project. That way everything: Samples, sequences, songs, settings will all load.

I have ran into that as well when I first got mine last December. What I think your doing is not loading the programs(sounds) as well, along with your saved sequences. How I figured this out I would do a drum loop, save it using one of the drum kits loaded off the flash card. Then the next day I would load the drum beat and it wouldnt play. Thats because I didnt have the sounds I used for that drum loop loaded from the flash card yet. I hope that helps, let me know

When you save a project, does it save the samples a 2nd time in a new folder or does it know to not make doubles of samples and just resaves them in their original folders on your card?

There is a choice when you save all of the memory (project) to overwrite similarly named files (or something like that). If you choose this, then the mpc will save copies of the samples in the folder that you save the project in. If you don't, it will not, and when you reload the project, the samples won't be there if you originally loaded them from another folder. Pretty poorly designed, imo.
