Whats up with my digital out/in?

aight, so ive had my mpc a while, but im just now tryin to get sounds off of my computer/cd player w/e... i try to connect a 1/8 inch cable from the computer to the digital in so i can record... but the digital in seems like its way too shallow... like theres a wall right behind the inserts so i cant get my cable plug up in there... seems wierd... i even tried to fit my iPod headphones in the digital in and out cuz that plug is the smallest in length i could find and it still wont fit in there....

just wonderin if yall knew what was up before i go openin my mpc up.

It's not designed for a 1/8 inch plug.
You need a cord with an RCA plug on it.
There's your problem/solution.

I'm likely going to get $hit for this (Being a new member), but even I knew that!
