Ok, I successfully made two programs from the Hi-Hats that I had.

When I turn my MPC on it automatically loads my hats, I then dl'ed Pad 187 and made the hat kits, then I went and tried to make some kits for my snares.

I saved them to the HDD and tried to load the kits for my snares it said FILE NOT FOUND.

Now, I'm thinking if I maybe need to load all the samples that I am going to make kits for or did I miss another step?

Please help me out.

I'm trying to organize my drums as I have a ton of them now and not many programs that they are assigned to.

Let me know if I messed up in any way.

This is what I do.

Load samples into PAD187> Then click FILE> EXPORT

A "name-it box will appear and I type the name and ask it to save to my desk top. Once I get it there load up the MPC and DL it.

Then I look for that folder and load that folder....

Works for me. I have had times that I did not follow a step or two and got the "file not found" message. I would try over.

I just want to clarify that you are load all this into an MPC1K correct? Just wanted to make sure.

You also don't load single sounds from these folders, load the whole folder... you can load separate sounds but you will have to create a new program....

One more thought... are these files .wav fles?

If not you can DL ^this^ and "switch" their file conversions with ease and then load them into the MP....

16mghz at a 44. something bit rate

Good luck.

These are .WAV files and I have folders that are all kicks, snares, hi hats, claps etc.

I want to make programs for all of these so I can load them.

I was doing the drag and drop from the MPC into Pad 187 and making programs for them, hats1, 2, 3, etc.

The hats worked because they auto load from the HDD when i turn the MPC on. There are no instructions on how to use it so i assumed it was pretty much drag, drop, save, done.

On my HDD I have a bunch of folders for different drum and i really want to organize them as I might be getting a turntable tomorrow and I want to have this all set to sample with and crank some beats out.

Like I said before any help is appreciated.

I hope I explained well enough.

You say "saved" but i have to ask are you SAVING or EXPORTING? When you EXPORT you are creating the file that will allow you to launch the kit you created in the MP. Look at the other folders that load for you automatically and you will see at the top of each folder is a different icon with like four dots or something... but its different looking file than the others. Look to your files you created and see if there is a file like that in yours. You can also see when you load the MP to your PC/MAC all you sounds and a "PROGRAM" file with your .wav samples... Not sure is you get me here, maybe others can word it for me better???

How long have you had your MP?

Do you know how to launch a kit from the HDD?

Had it for a few weeks.

Yes I know how to launch kits from the HDD.

After i saved it, I see the program file on the MPC, but when i try to load it, it says file not found.

So I might have to load the sounds first, then make the kits. I might have to make a new folder for the new kits but I do want to have them autoload from the HDD. like making them my default kits when I turn it on.

Someone else has done this, he said he autoloads 50 kits of drums when he turns his MPC on.

I'm trying to get that happening.
