SPDIF sounds too clean!

I find that when I record out the SPDIF into my tracking software, that the sound quality of the recording is somwhat lacking. I think that it may be because the sound is too clean and it loses the mpc's grimey sound...anybody else notice this???

I like the clean sound...the way I see it, you can always make it dirty if you need it, but you can't make it clean once it's dirty. That shit stains.
