Hi everyone, I was just wondering if anybody would be able to help me with a problem? Im using a MPC 1000 with the official OS & after finishing a session / making a beat I always save using the save all function and creating a new folder for each project Im working on. After saving & switching the unit off I can reload the session again fine with no problems but then after a while & after making new beats (times varies) I try to load a project Ive done in the past and notice that it doesnt load properly with half of it missing?? In the program window it will display something like " ?Sample 1" on the pads that the missing samples are, I try loading them manually again back to the pads but they are just not there anymore?? Ive recently noticed that if I put the flash card into my PC there are some unknown file types that go up in value like "W01 File" "W02 File" that if opened as a WAV file are indeed the missing samples?? Ive tried saving them with an extension .wav but the mpc just wont recognise them? Ive had this problem ever since having the machine about 6 months ago but I thought it was due to me maybe not saving them properly in the first place, the problem went away for a good few weeks but has now ate away at nearly every project I have started!! A couple of weeks ago (When everything loaded fine) I backed up all the info on the card to my pc so have tried formating the card (& the original one that came with the MPC) and putting the sessions back on, try loading and its still the same?? It usualy seems to lose samples from pad 11 onwards but a few tracks have lost nearly all of them! Its like some killer virus is on there eating away at all the hours Ive spent on there!! Please help if possible.. Is it a problem with my machine?? Im just so gutted that Ive lost all the stuff Ive been working on! U can never recreate them the same :0( not happy... Thanks in advance

i am having the same problem. everytime i use a sample, i save it properly. i shut it off, then come back later and power it on. everything loads fine except the sample i used. when i hit "load", everything loads fine until it gets to the sample. it says " file not found". it shows in program mode as "?Sample-01" thru " ?Sample-16". this is so frustrating!! please help if u can.

[quote="crossings"]save ENTIRE MEMORY in a NEW FOLDER for each beat you make...

After saving entire memory. When you go to load.... Make sure you go INTO the folder and select the the PJ file. Everything not loading will happen if you just go to the folder of your choice and try to load it.

Sounds to me like the save problem you have with the Akai OS....i had the same with Akai OS 2.12.
Only way to solve this is using JJOS and re-formatting the drive under JJOS (and placing back all files).

It seems that at random times the Akai OS will destroy or garble files when you save them.

again, all you need to do is:

and use the CLEAR function every time you load one.

and when you load, just load the entire folder, don't select any specific files below... it will load the entire folder if you only highlight the folder.
