this is wack. what other business makes a new product and then raises the price of the old product? also.... what other company creates a new product and then make you purchase the old one in order to get the new one? i wont even get into the legality of where this code came from and how it was obtained. this really pisses me off. and everybody just pays for it.

Homie, you got it wrong. JJ is not a "business". He's a dude/crew that created/hacked an operating system that was flawed upon release. Dude takes time out of his life to hook us up with this ish and has made beat making that much more fun and productive.

NOONE said you have to purchase anything. So either step off with your comments or buy it and fall in love with your MPC all over again.

f'ing ignat people. JJ ain't have to do anything for us and kept it to himself... imagine if he did that? What would your MPC 1000 be doing?

xPEACE goes out to the members of this forum that understand JJ!

ignorance? potna i alrady got the os. and the jjos dont stop the 1000 from being a flawed piece of shit. if you have ever used another mpc you would know that. the 1000 i have is basically a toy to hold me over untill i purchase another real mpc. and if you need a new os to help you be productive. then maybe the hardware isnt the problem. before you call someone ignorant you should read up on what an "end user license" is. and as soon as you start charging people money for a product. you become a business. there is no reason to support the old product and that support has all but stopped. and rightfully so. the product is reliable and sound. but the price still goes up? do the math son. the jjos has probably netted near $300,000.00 tax free to a person that used stolen code. how would you see it if someone ripped off something you designed, changed it and then sold it to everybody for extreme profits? you probably wouldnt be saying things like "JJ is not a "business". He's a dude/crew that created/hacked an operating system that was flawed upon release. Dude takes time out of his life to hook us up with this ish and has made beat making that much more fun and productive. " i guess if somebody stole your beats and made platinum hits out of them you ould just let that go too. and what would my mpc be doing? the same hing it has always done. make music. the 1000 is a flop. not a god send. you can stop treating it like its the best thing ever made now that the jjos has arrived.

lune please. stop hating. the features are there. period. the 1k (depending on the user, which you obviously aren't one of them) can stomp any mpc. no no wait, you throw jj os in there and you've got a whole nother league of mpc. FEATURES wise. no kidding the price goes up a bit on the os. why shouldnt it? everyone who bought it in the first place are the ones who run into bugs. they get fixed ASAP, then down the line its a better product. bong bong. i happen to feel like jj does me a service to my music making by doing his thing. i don't have a problem paying the price i paid. if you're sweating the price, don't buy it. he could be charging 100 bucks for the os's and i know a lot of people would consider it a priceless addition. and for the price, the 1k is the most ridiculous bang for your buck ever in the history of drum machines! oh boo hoo akai os was horrible. they didn't give a fck about the product. good thing i don't care about business ethics i care about making music.

if you need a new os to help you be productive. then maybe the hardware isnt the problem.

no kidding.... the akai os sucked. the 1k is capable of the same thing every other mpc could do, only more. (with the jj os)

i guess if somebody stole your beats and made platinum hits out of them you ould just let that go too
yeah if i made beats, had a phat kick and snare with absolute horrible everything else, and someone used my kick and snare to make butter beats, they deserve it. you're def underestimating the rediculous flip jj did on the os...

look im not trying to start a fight here. i own the 1000. and i own the os 4.99i. i also have owned and used other mpc's. this is by far not the best. granted, if you can only afford $500 then this is the most feature rich one you can get. that by far doesnt make it the best. shit go over to the 4000 forum and say that.

you ever heard of beta testing? you know thats where you work out the bugs for free. then the final release has a charge. and as a new version is released the price of the original goes down. not up. this doesnt stop the developer from updating the original throughout its life cycle.

and maybe im not so impressed because i can make the same music with an eps16+.
