Should I yes or no?

Okay heres the question,
I currently have a MPC 1000, my friend wants to trade his fully blown 2000xl studio plus MPC in perfect condition for my 1000. What should I DO???

Why does your friend want to trade? Will it come with the 8 outs, effects board, zip drive, 32megs of RAM, if it does and it works fine make the trade. The more I'm learning the more I'm finding out that a fully blown 2000xl does beat the 1000. A fully blown xl does a lot of things a 1000 can't like timestretch, BPM match, pitchshift, etc. And if you have that FX card that thing totally blows away the effects on a 1000.

A blownout 2000xl is a better stand alone piece of equipment than a 1000. I would definitely consider making the trade!

I would say yes to the trade if you don't need the portability.

You can always sell the xl if you don't like it and get the 1000 back.

Your friend might be a bit of an idiot, just hope he isn't an idiot enough to be checking this forum! Double check everythings on the up and up with his gear though. If he's a sucka...hey their born every minute, take advantage of the opportunity.

Yes, only if it is going to be your master midi station, No cpu.
Now if you are going to use a computer than get the 1k, your files can go to and from No .snd to convert. Most people record the sound out of the box into DAW or mixer with tape anyway. But finding new soundsets for the 1k is easier because of .wav format.

Maybe there's something wrong with his unit and he's pulling a fast one on you.?

The MPC editor makes the computer/ wav transfer argument moot.

I have a 60 for christs sake and I transfer all the freqin time.

It is faster on a 1000, but with all the bugs being reported......
