HELP! brand new and broken??

Hi all

Bought an MPC1000 today and have just set up... No upgrades bar the 128mb RAM expansion which I put in this evening...

The gear has been working great for an hour or so, now suddenly this deafening noise starts - ive figured out it sounds as though it is playing every single sample on all the pads from the active bank at the same time....

Has anyone come accross this before? I'd send it straight back but I believe as I installed the RAM myself the warranty is void?

Start over and see what happens , reinstall old ram try it , then reinstall new and try again . when is the noise actually starting ?

yeah - taken out new ram and same occurs...

even worse - now i get one of the following error messages

"illegal general instruction exception"
"CPU addresss error (write)"
"CPU addresss error (read)"


brand new!! gutted! been waiting for ages for this bad boy!!
