2 qustions..Patch phrase/vocals

1st how do i use patch phrase correctly?? I can't get my song to stop cutting out
all i get is da da out da da out.. what the best way to chop sample up for patchphase???

2. How can i get mostly the vocals from the song??

You can do a vocal cut (remove vocals) by summing the L and reverse phased R channels. This will subtract whatever is mono dead center.

To do the opposite however, last I checked requires lots of creative EQ'ing or asking the producer for the vocal track. If you don't mind some of the other instruments bleeding in you can do pretty lazy EQ'ing to get rid of at least the bass drums and high end with a band pass filter, but as far as I know it is next to impossible to get a vocal track out of a full mix.

Having said that, I'm sure somebody will argue with me, but your best bet is to buy records that have the instrument/vocal track on separate tracks.
