akai warranty 24 months?

akai warranty 24 months?

I'm going to buy a 1000 and now I have 2 stores offering me 24 months warranty or only 12 months.
The mpc with 1 year of warranty costs 15€ less than the other one... if you tell me it is better with the "extended" warranty of 2 years, I think 15 € are nothing!

The store selling it with 12 months replied me this thing: "Akai may offer an extended warranty if you register your MPC with them and to do so you’ll need to consult the in-box literature (usually the manual) to find out how"...

Do you know something about this? is it true?

akai offers 12 months warranty, your dealer is offering you another year of warranty basically for 15 euro. its up to you whether to get it or not. If you doin shows, 2 years of coverage might come in handy.

I am not aware of akai offering a warranty of more than 12 months. Did you try contacting akai about it?

Some places offer warranties and extended warranties that start as SOON as you purchase the product.
Manufacturers warranty is usually one year from purchase date. So for example with 24 extended you'd THINK you'd get 3 years right? Nope, sometimes it's 2 years. First year both, akai and store warranty can run together, and the second year will be the store warranty. Some places do this and some don't, you'll have to check it out.

I think this is a very deceptive practice, so keep your eyes open on that.
