Version 2.12 Update Problem

I downloaded the Version 2.12 OS for the MPC 1000 and I followed the instructions to update: I put the file on my CF card, started the MPC by holding down 'window', the screen prompted me to press 'REC' if I wanted to update and I did, and it said it was completed and it started to reboot, but it went to a blank screen and has not changed since then. I've waited forever and nothing has happened. How can i fix this?

Try to install it again. Make sure there aren't any corrupted files on ur flas card.
Maybe it's better to back it up and clean it first before u try again.

I found out it was the contrast that was set too high and i fixed it, but there's another problem now. I can not hear any of the sounds of samples or recordings i make. I tried different headphones and speakers but there is no sound.
