how neccesary is it for me to run a mixing board?

hello to everybody.......i currently am running my mxlv93m mic thru my tube pre amp into a four track recorder into my audiophile USB soundcard....i was wondering how it would effect my sound if I ran from the preamp directly into my souncard? Thanks a bunch...it is very appreciated. Glance

If there's any difference I think it will sound better because if you run the signal through the preamp and also through the Track recorder you'll be going through two (2) gain stages. The less gain stages you go through, the purest the sound will be.
