will the sample sound different?

(first of all I repeat again sorry for my english..)

In these days while I'm waiting my mpc arrives, I read the manual and think about some things
Today I'm thinking about the difference of sampling from PC or transferring the sample directly to the memory card...

I suppose the mpc has "its" sound, its way to give color to the sound, but this comes from the converters so I NEED to pass through them sampling the song? Or also with a COPY made via usb the sample will sound different?

I can't understand if the "typical sound" of mpc (i only read about it, not tested yet) is due to converters IN or not.


I know I'll notice myself listening but now I'm curious about it..

do not worry about an "mpc sound" and import your samples in any way you choose. truth to be told you probably wouldn't notice a difference, or a difference big enough to care.

for the record though i prefer monitoring my mpc from the spdif out because 16 bit 44100 sounds a little "frosty" to me. by that i mean that i can hear the crystalline sound of an audible sampling rate - it's not an effect that embodies true-to-the-original realism but i personally have always loved it.

monitoring from analog outs/stereo outs smooths this frostiness out and you loose it.
it's especially evident on bass samples and your lead samples.
