hello all,
i'm wondering if anyone can help out this pretty annoying problem i have:
I'm a drummer - i used acoustic drums along with electronic pads that go through a trigger-to-midi converter into the MPC1000 via midi to play my own samples. It seems to work fine in the studio and whenever i'm testing them but when the whole band is playing the MPC just randomly doesn't play some hits!!
here's my signal path:
Roland PD8/KD-7
into
Roland TMC-6 (trigger to midi converter)
into
MPC1000.
now - i can see the TMC-6 registering the hits, so i know there is no problem with that, there is nothing wrong with the cables or pads - it IS the MPC. The reason i stress this is because lots of shop assistants tell me "it isn't the MPC" - but it IS.
Anyway, the MPC i have doesn't have the JJ OS upgrade - do you think this will work? Is this a common fault? How can i fix it? I've tried and tried to work out if it is 'something' causing it but i really cant find an obvious reason for it doing this.
aarrgghhhh!! are there any other hardware samplers? But not the Korg Electribe - its rubbish!
heck.
thanks a lot people,
Ali
