My PC says a new hardware is found and it says connected on my 1000.....but there is just no where to pull up the MPC on the computer. Come on...was Akai trying to prevent people from using there product easily and efficiently???? Any tips?

P.S. I'm tryin to do this so I can get all these sounds from my PC to my MPC. I loaded the sounds on my PC through my CF card via my MPC- So it read that...

No, it reads it when the CF is in the 1000, but I was told in order to transfer the files from my PC to the hard drive in my 1000, I had to take the CF out and then pull up the icon for the external device, but there are no icons anywhere....but thanks for the try

Whoever told you this was wrong. You must have the CF card in. This is because to the computer the MPC becomes a giant card reader when you put it in "USB" mode. Make sure your card is pushed in and then turn your MPC on and do the "USB" function under the "LOAD" menu.

The CF card will mount and be named whatever the factory name is (so it won't say MPC under your hard drives) for instance, I bought a Lexar 2GB card and when I mount it it shows us as L: Lexar on my comp.

Hope that helps! Good luck.

I don´t know if I understand you right or what OS you´re on, but if you want to access the HD in your MPC from the computer you can change the volume/media to be recognized by the PC in either the USB screen or somewhere in the SAVE or LOAD screen, try to "Window" some areas in there and see what you find.
It´s the USB screen on the JJ 4.15 I´m using, really can´t remember how it was laid out in the old Akai OS.
