I was in a hurry and havnt been here for a long time.. hope no one else found this first. so here it is, A friend found this ....

MPC1000 - Non Akai RAM - Tested and working!


For those of you who've purchased an Akai MPC1000, but then waited to upgrade the ram because of Akai's ridiculous price on the 128 mb stick ($110-140.00!!!!!)...there's an option!

I picked this up yesterday ran the memory tests in the MPC (hold down PLAY when powering it up) and it passed all 4 runs. This workaround means you are only getting half of the chips working, but it's a lot cheaper than what akai is trying to fetch for the chip (their's states 256mb as well when you only get 128).
