4 outs VS. Stereo Outs

Is there a difference between the two sets as far as gain goes?

I remember reading somewhere that on one of the older model MPC's (can't remember which one, I think it was the 3000) that the seperate outs aren't as hot as the stereo outs.

My reason for asking is: if I want to run all 6 outs at the same time, would I have bring the stereo outs down a bit to compensate?


Anyone have some light to shed on this?

i track all 6 at the same time no problem. just remember to turn every sample other than what you want to record off. it kind of sucks, but thats what you have to do.

No difference to me. I ran a snake out of mine to the Roland vs2480 and the Digi002 and I havnt noticed any difference in volume strength or anything like that. I use all the outputs, same with my 2500 and my Mv8800..Hey mabe someone else have but even if there is a difference, it isnt major enough to sweat.

I've just been tracking out of the stereo outs lately...becoming a pain in my ass as I want everything in PT for mixdown

I track all mine out at once through a snake and havnt noticed much difference.

You can run the onboard effects on the stereo outs. You can't do that with the 4 outs but since your dumping everything on a DAW you can use the plug ins instead.

true ^^^ plug ins aren't ideal if outboard's around, but I'd MUCH rather use plugs than the on board effects in the 1000
