Got the CF adapter that screws in perfectly into the HD tray, set the jumper to Cable select and off to the races!

I recently got a Polaroid 16GB CF card 600X speed for $32 off of amazon. Hasn't arrived yet but I'll let yall know if it works. I saw one other person got one and it worked fine.

Big Up Triple X!

Would something like this work? It's IDE but is there more to concider?

Yo! that HD is over $1200!!! and an IDE HD????? WTF??!!!!

well it has to be IDE not SATA right?
What I mean is that is it possible to put a solid state DRIVE (I'd like something around 100GB) into the mpc instead of a card (the technology is basically the same...)
yeah, expensive as shit

Really? Thanks for the information.

You didn't read the thread at all, did you?

I think he was referring to me already pointing out the SATA incompatibility 4 posts prior to yours.

Here is the breakdown...

MPC 2500SE
This Card Reader http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=104&cp_id=10407&cs_id=1040705&p_id=4623&seq=1&format=1#largeimage

I did the mod(Ultra IDE to CF), used the card on page 9 (1000 Mod sticky) with the 4 holes and purchased a transcend 64 gb 400x c.f. card, even tried the akai 32gb card that works in the front slot no prob.

Installed everything correctly(hopefully, Pictures can be provided if necessary), and have not been able to get a damn HD to show up on the load/save screen.

Anyone familiar with the issue, or even if I'm lucky a way to get things rollin' with the mod??

a few more re-starts of the mpc and this happened.

I have gotten the CF card to show up as hard disk. I have now formatted the CF inside the MPC, and tried to save and have found a message saying 'SYSTEM ERROR" Pin 47 has been removed from the DVD drive and all, now re-started the MPC and it says disk is full "0.0 free space"

Hi,
i finally got my own mpc1000 about a month ago, and i think that now it's the right time to start upgrading and modding.

Would any of these adapters fill my need for SSD-mod?

Those shorter ones would be great bargain since they are less than 2 euros incl postage fees.
They are selling also pretty cheap CF cards, so i guess i'm ordering as soon as i get my next salary.

I did everything exactly as you said to and even purchased the same adapter, yet for some reason my MPC won't load passed the ram installed load screen. I'm not running any form of JJ OS if that helps any. Any advice?

I tried this mod as my harddrive side the other day, and the adapter worked just fine, however the 32GB Transcend CF card did not.
I formatted it on the MPC and it showed up just fine on the load/save screen, so I tried saving a beat to it, but after transferring 3-4 files it got stuck on the 'saving.....' dialogue so I had to reboot the MPC.
I then tried the card in the card reader on my computer and everything worked wonderfull so I put a couple of drum samples on the card and tried to load them on the MPC, but again it got stuck/crashed after a couple of files.

I then put in a 4GB card instead and everything have been great ever since.

My experience...

Reading goofylife's post yesterday got me thinking that I have never actually tried to save anything to the 32gb card - guess what? Doesn't work.
However, I thinnk in my case I have a faulty card - it won't format on my PC either.
