Think you are confusing Bit rate with Bit depth.
The Bit depth for the mpc is 16
Sounds like you are trying to load an mp3.

Yeah. Im trying to send a mp3 file from my itunes to the mpc. It goes through to the mpc but when i hit load in the mpc it does nothing. Any idea what the problem is?

convert it in iTunes to a wav then drag to your desktop then MPC.

Ahhh man....you reachin homie.... 
check it,
Edit > Preferences > advanced > importing > WAV encoder.
Right now its set to AAC. You need to change it to Wav.

Don't forget about the free softwares out there that can covert a whole batch of files instead of just one file.

Damn. i did all that and it still wont load. i dont know what the problem is but thanks for the help
