major problem help!

Anybody else have this prob with their 1000?

Whenever I load samples longer than 2 seconds, the MPC loops them at that point and the rest of the sample is lost. I tried using a card reader instead of the USB connection but no luck. I can sample directly without a problem but when I try tor read off the card its all ****ed up. Akai supoort has no answer and I can't return it cause I bought it used. Anybody have an idea?

looks like your problem is not with the CF card or the MPC. I thiknk your samples are saved the wrong way. which software are you using?

There's a set of "90bpm slow funk" loops going well over 2 seconds... I was sampling my K5000S synth last weekend, lengths up to 10 seconds all sampled and played back fine.

I had a few strange samples from a magazine cover CD, one actually crashed the MPC1000. One cool tool I use is dbPowerAmp Music Converter http://www.dbpoweramp.com/ , which quickly converts between many formats, including 44k 16bit WAV like the MPC1000 eats. If you convert from "like to like", the audio doesn't change, but it strips out strange chunks that could be interfering with the reading. (It also loses loop points, if they're in there.)

I use wavelab and save as 44.1 16 bit pcm waves. Haven't tried the hollow sun stuff but I will.

well, the hollow sun joints work fine so now I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I guess it could be wavelab. Ima try a differnt program and see what's up.

I feel kinda stupid. I rendred a file in ACID and it works fine. I just figured since the wavelab files properties were right, the samples should work but I guess it's something to do with the program. Thanks for the idea. I was on the verge of doing something regrettable to my little MPC.

I am using wavelab 4 and loops work fine. Did you try this? go to preferences under tools and click on the file tab and make sure you don't have "Create optimized audio file headers" and "Write markers in wave file header" checked. These can both cause problems with other hardware or software.
