synthesizer problem

I recently bought a korg r3 synthesizer and i set everything thing up like the manual said and i recorded a sequence using midi chords. The next day i tried to make another sequence with the same settings i had at first. This time the mpc is playing the sounds from the synthesizer on the pads along with my drums when i switch to the midi setting on the main page to 1b. When i turn change the 1b to off it will play only the drums but i can't sequence the synthesizer. I want to know how to make it so that the mpc pads only play my drums instead of the synthesizer sounds.

put the synth part on a seperate track and turn off the program.

When you say you set it back up the same, what do you mean exactly...... It sounds as though you loaded the seq from the prev day back up instead of starting fresh.


If a MIDI channel is selected and a synth is connected, but you have a program selected as well, you will get both sounds at the same time.... Where you had 1B; you should have had OFF.

If you want the MIDI to be Present in most cases you select OFF in Program, and select the MIDI channel you desire.

MIDI can be tricky at first.. Just keep plying with it until you figure it out.. A lot of times all the reading and direction in the world cannot help you figure out MIDI. I had to spend an entire day playing with it in order to have a basic understanding of it.
