Spdif out of MPC into protools???

Can someone please help me break down the steps i must take to record into protools from my 1000 using spdif!!! for some reason i cant figure it out.... i feel ive tried everything, looked everywhere, and just cannot see m to figure it out... PLEASE HELP!!!

i have an mbox 2 pro
with protools 7.3 i believe
and of course my 1000

i also just plugged in my headphones to my MPC and i have no sound coming out.... WHAT is going on??

i figured it out, my friend kept saying i needed to run MTC as well. so the turn internal sound option was off, so it was never spitting out audio......

got it now tho..

Can you help me solve it then. How do i go spdif out from the mpc 1000 to the mbox 2. I know about the mp 1000 digital out to in on the box but what is the software setup/config on the mp and the box?

Ishyster - This is how I've done it in the past. Connect your cable from the mp's digital out to the mbox's digital in. Next go into Pro Tools and in the top bar click "Setup" --> "Hardware." On the left side of this window there should be a drop down bar titled "Clock Source." Change the Clock Source from internal to S/PDIF.

Now go into the Pro Tools mix view and find the track you want to record. Below the sends where it says I/O click the grey bar that should say something like "In 1-2" to change it. For me I change it to "In 3-4" which is assigned as my digital input path. That's all there is to it, if your set up is like mine it should be ready to record.
