Hey people hows it going?

Ive been making beats for a short time now on my MPC1000 and I feel like im at the stage where I can give them to people etc to let them hear or to use or whatever.
My problem is this....When I try to record MAINS OUT im losing sound quality. I know that the manual says that its because the preset volume is -12db( if memory serves me correctly) and that you simply have to set it to 0db to stop you losing sound when youve recorded it onto mains out. But if I change it to 0db the sound distorts like a female halfbreed banshee having her clit pierced with a rusty nail by a blind, deaf lepor who thinks he's at his new sewing class.

Some people say, "try it at -6db" but it dont make a difference.....im losing sound quality and it is reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaalllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy bugging my tits

Im looking for some help guys and I dont want to have to start buying all sorts of other shit just to get my beats off of my MPC you know?

HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP man....or woman....especially if are fffffiiiiiiiiinnnnnnneeeeee

Is funny as all hell!

Second. I personally avoid resampling into the MPC for the same reason. Although its not the best route you can use the line in on your comp and a free DAW like Audacity to at least get them in the computer. Like I said its not the best option but at least its controllable.

Hes not talking about resampling, hes talking about recording his beats into a DAW.

I have the same problem man, and really it depends on what I'm listening to the beat on...

0db w/ headphones sounds great!, 0db w/ some standard audio speakers sounds like shit!

I usually just mess w/ the db depending on what device im recording into as long as it bumps and doesnt distort I call it good.
