Hello, i just recently got an MPC1000, and I still have lots of zip disks from my MPC2000xl days, and there is some beats I would like to bring back up from them. I was reading something about this but wasnt too clear on it.Is this possible to do? and what would it take to do so?

thanks for all your help.

you gotta load them onto your pc and use something like 'awave studio' to convert the .snd to .wav, which then can be loaded into your mpc. i have no clue about how you can convert the sequences unless you play from your 2kxl via midi into your mpc, and even then you might not be able to because of mismatching note values.

It's pretty Difficult. I went through a similar transition about 2 years ago. In my opinion, best to just call the beats on the 2KXL finished, track 'em out and leave it at that. It's a pretty big headache to transfer.

The .snd files actually work, so no problem there, im able to get all the sounds loaded up, but the sequences I had for the 2kXL dont work. I read on the akaipro.com specs that the 1000 can read all programs and sequences from the XL but it said saved as midi file only. So Im guessing I would have to find someone with an XL to load up my zip disks and resave all the sequences one by one as a MID file? has anyone else tried this and got success? help a brotha out! lol

If i wouldve known it would be a pain in the arse, I wouldve tracked them out when i had the chance! 8)
