I have an MPC 3000 and I'm thinking about selling it for a MPC1000. Mostly for the convienence of the PC to MPC file transfer and to use the extra money to buy a new synth.

I don't really care about the design or cheaper 'feel' of the MPC1000 however, my main concern is Sound Quality!!

Is the overall A to D sound conversion noticably better with the 3000? Is the bottom end and high noticably different between the two units?

holla!

the 1000 has it's own sound. I havn't used the 3000, but I have used the 2000XL, and I can say that the 1000 sounds crispier and punchier then the 2000XL. If it comes to the sound quality, don't wory, I don't thing Akai would slack on that one.

The 3000 has better D/A and A/D converters, but I don't know if the average listener will be able to tell them apart, go to a store and try before you buy...

"The 3000 has better D/A and A/D converters,"

Can cite a specific reason for this besides hearsay?
Do you know what D/A and A/D are even used in the machines (model #'s preferably)?
Do you know what other machines use the same A/D and D/A convertors?
