Please help....can I Reset my mpc 1000

Hi Guys,

I am having an issue with my mpc 1000.
When I turn it on it reads boot block. It says
it is searching for a OS file not found......
and says it is in halt mode....whats that all about.
I have been researcing this all over....can I reset it???
will this bring it back???...I do not want to send it out
to get fixed if it is something easy....I am new at this
and really like this forum for FAQ's....can anyone help???

ok it sounds like its looking for an os, you should download and place the os on your flash card and see if the mpc finds it

you gotta use a compact flash reader... maybe you have one built into your pc... most new pcs have them. if not youll have to buy one. then download the os, put it on the lil bugger and load er up home boy!

I do not have a reader....
when I eject the flash card...it makes no diff.

it does nothing with or without it in there....

do you know the number for tech support???

dude go buy a card reader,u will save urself tons of dough,,,after you buy the card reader,hook it to comp,insert card,go to akaipro site,download the os for the 1000, put it on the root folder on the card,insert the card back into the 1000, and load it..there you go,now save ur money!!!!

$10 bucks. can't beat it. Just hook that bad boy up, plug the CF card in, Put the Akai OS (or JJOS 3.08--let's hope) on the CF card.

Once it's on the card, when you turn the MPC back on, hold the WINDOW button. It'll let you know it's found the OS on the card and if you want to install. Hit REC for yes and let it install. There you go.

you should try makin some cheese. that might help.

where do I download the jjos??...and how much $$$$

I went to the akai site...and I cant find any os downloads.

where do I get it from.....and how much does it cost.

The last thing I want to do is send it in to get fixed....no thanks!
